I was the keynote speaker at the IndicThreads.com conference on Java Technology today. This conference had technical sessions on a wide range of topics in the Java space where key Java community members presented and discussed many concepts and innovations.
My talk titled- “What is the context for Java programs?” was about technology advances and the industry trends that Java programmers should be aware of. To do this, I used the Kawasaki method and put my list of TOP-10
Here’s my list:
- Multi-core architectures
- Mobile internet devices
- Cloud computing and Software as a Service
- Web 2.0 and social networking
- Rich internet applications
- Large volumes of data
- Open source movement
- Gaming and entertainment
- Green IT
- Become a part of the community
Towards the end, I also encouraged the group to join CSI (Computer Society of India), ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). Click on the links to join the community! I am keen on hearing other technologies I may have missed. Do write back.
