A multi-million dollar financial services company providing a wide range of personalized financial products and services, including wealth management, retirement planning, investment advice, and insurance.
The client lacked a centralized management system for identity, resulting in the ad hoc management of applications. This required assigning unique credentials per application to every user, adding friction and frustration to the access process.
Despite having a legacy identity management (IDM) product, the client still required manual management. The cloud-first application structure meant that the existing IDM solution needed to be mapped to their current licenses before being integrated with cloud applications.
Their existing multi-factor authentication (MFA) provider did not integrate directly with cloud deployments, increasing the risk of stolen or lost credentials and exposure to cyber threats.
To address these issues, Persistent deployed a comprehensive solution leveraging Oracle products, including Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 12C for SSO capabilities, and Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) for identity governance. We customized and deployed them to meet the client’s unique business requirements.
Persistent created a custom authentication model that integrated with OAM, enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) to provide an extra layer of security. We integrated the client’s legacy products into their cloud infrastructure utilizing an AWS RDS database to add this functionality, even though Oracle did not support or verify this use case. Through the team’s ingenuity, we added functionality beyond the base product’s capabilities to meet the client’s needs.
Persistent developed workbooks and conducted training sessions to ensure long-term success, empowering them to maintain the solution independently. Ultimately, our team delivered a comprehensive and tailored solution that enabled the client to manage their identity management system efficiently, effectively, and securely.
Persistent deployed legacy products designed for on-premises use in the cloud, enabling our client to reap the benefits of cloud deployment without extensive cost. This transformation significantly improved the end-user experience through a unified SSO.
Unified SSO also led to decreasing support requests due to fewer locked accounts and password reset requests. Our solution provided the client with improved support, allowing them to focus on other important business priorities. Persistent’s solution not only addressed the immediate challenges faced by our client, but also ensured long-term benefits, including better support, improved security, and a streamlined identity management system.
